Above the Clouds Card

This stamp set was top on my wish list.  I love that it is bundled with a punch and when you purchase them together you can save 10% on the bundled price.  Punches are awesome!  Don’t you think so too?

Hot air balloons make me smile.  Have you ever been to a hot air balloon festival?  The glowing? Oh man!  There is something magical and majestic in them.  If you have not, you should put it on your bucket list!  Go to a good one.  We had one in Plano (North Dallas), Texas near where I grew up.  I haven’t been to one since but I still remember the awe I felt every time I see a balloon in the sky, or one stamped on paper 🙂

2019-2020 Annual Catalog is here!!

Oh Wow!  I cannot believe its already June!  This year is just flying by so fast!  However, instead of dwelling over things I could have shared before but didn’t, let’s just dust ourselves off and pick up and try this again.  Today is the launch of the new Stamping’ Up annual catalog. I am really excited over the content of this catalog!  Mourning the retired products never lasts that long because I can’t help but be so inspired by the new stuff and I have to say that this years catalog has so much inspiration!  Honestly, I think I want to set a goal to recreate every bit of artwork.  Oh, that could get me into some serious trouble.  No way could I ever purchase every stamp set; however, maybe if we get creative we can use every idea in some form or fashion as inspiration for what we do have.  Hmmm, something to think about.

Meanwhile, I wanted to share this really fun video Stampin’ Up put together for us to share.  It’s really short but you will want to hop right up and get to crafting after you see this fun inspirational piece!

Isn’t that fun?  Let’s make this year the best stamping year yet.  I’m excited about setting new goals for myself and planning out projects and content.  My number one goal this year is consistency.  Not perfection. I miss out on so much when I get hung up on perfection.  That isn’t fun at all!!  Let’s get crafty and make pretty things 🙂

SAB 2019

It’s Sale-A-Bration Time!

12.05.18_shareable_shop_sab_preearn_us.jpg

We typical say Christmas is the MOST wonderful time of the year; however, in the stamping and paper crafting world SALE-A-BRATION is the MOST wonderful time of the year!  Who doesn’t love free goodies?  So many perks and rewards just for having fun and creating beautiful handmade cards and gifts that you need for gift giving anyway.  What is not to love about that?

Now through March 31st you can choose free product from the Sale-a-bration brochure with every $50 you spend in product purchases.  Not only that, but if you host a workshop you can earn an extra $25  in Stampin’ Rewards as well.  FREE FREE FREE we all love free!

2019_SAB_P12_D.jpg

This year’s selection of reward goodies has a complete offering from stamps to dies to accessories such as ribbon or DSP, ribbon and more!  Hold onto your blocks because we even have Specialty FOIL paper in coordinating Grapefruit Grove and Lovely Lipstick colors!!  (shown in photo above).

The rewards are even better if you choose to join the Stampin’ Up! family during Sale-a-bration.  Whether you are just looking to get better discounts on your hobby supplies or you wish to earn an income to fund your hobby supplies (or work it as a business and earn extra income including free trips), joining to be a demonstrator has many rewards all year long; however during Sale-a-bration you receive more free products!  This year you have two options when you join, you can either choose $175 worth of product from any of our current catalogs OR choose $129 in product plus receive the NEW exclusive Craft and Carry Tote (shown below), which is great for storing all your paper crafting supplies either on the go or while at home.  Either option you choose cost you only $99 (plus shipping is free).  As always, there is no obligation when you join Stampin’ Up! as a demonstrator.  You can sign up simply to receive discounts on product to build your own inventory or continue indefinitely to receive ongoing perks of being a demonstrator.  The choice is yours because SU! recognizes that everyone has different goals and different needs.

If you are in need of a Sale-a-bration brochure, wish to host a workshop to earn more free goodies or maybe you are ready to dive in and become a fellow demonstrator, contact me today and I’ll be happy to help you make your paper crafting dreams a reality.

Happy Stampin’

P.S.  SU! events are always so much fun!  Not only do we get to see friends from across the world that we otherwise might only know on the web, we also get valuable training and the opportunity to create with new product that has not been released AND see upcoming promotions before anyone else!  This is a picture of me with the *NEW* Craft and Carry tote taken back in November at Onstage.  Attendees even got the opportunity to purchase this exclusive item that is now only available to new Demonstrators when they sign up!  Just one of the many perks of being part of the SU! family.  I love this Tote!! Thank you Stampin’ Up!  (NOTE:  Have you seen the new Craft in Carry Bag for the Stamparatus?  They coordinate!)

Tackling Paper Pumpkin Organization

Today I wanted to share with you how I have been storing my Paper Pumpkin Stamp sets.  Those mini sets are great! But, what to do with them when you finish your kit?  There are so many great sentiments and images but it is easy to loose track of what you have and if you aren’t keeping track of them, if they are not organized, then you probably aren’t using them!

Watermarked1(2018-09-29-0731)

I decided I wanted something that could sit on my stamp shelf and had easy access for me to be able to thumb through and quickly glance at the stamps to see which I want to use.  I have prepared a video tutorial to show you how to make my stamp file box.  It only uses a few products and holds one years worth of Paper Pumpkin Stamp Sets.

If you are new to my website, or Stampin’ Up! and don’t know what I am talking about when I refer to Paper Pumpkin?? then you should definitely go read learn more about this fabulous monthly subscription kit HERE!

Watermarked3(2018-09-29-0732)

Another use for this box would be to organize and store your handmade cards!  Keep those beautiful creations safely stored until they are ready to be signed and sent away!  All of the products used in this project can be purchased from my online shop.

Additional Tip:  Of all the months I have been a member of the Paper Pumpkin Club there has only been one stamp set (Manly Moments, May 2018) which was too long to fit inside the clear envelope.  My solution was to cut the stamp set in half, acetate sheets and all, and put one half on one side of the whisper white cardstock and the other half on the back side.  It works just fine!  I forgot to point this out in my video.  Sorry!

Watermarked2(2018-09-29-0731)

Thanks for watching today.  Let me know if you make your own and share with me how you chose to decorate yours.  I kept my simple but I know some of you will really make yours spectacular and I would love to see them!  Share your photos with me on facebook.

Have a blessed day and happy stampin’!

Stamping 101

Lesson 3: Exploring SU! Kits

Now that we have discussed the 3 essentials to stamping AND explained the necessities of a basic tool kit, I am going to contradict myself for a moment and say,

It is possible to create with less than the necessities!

{GASP}

Yes, it is true!  How, you ask? My answer is…. SU! All-Inclusive Kits!!

Stampin’ Up! does an amazing job of planning for every type of crafter and creating opportunities to make stamping and papercrafting  possible for everyone!

SU! All-Inclusive Kits are the perfect solution for those that are looking for a way to get started with the least amount of investment.  You will find several options of these kits in the current Annual Catalog (pages 6-10).  I will feature 2 of them today today that I feel are great starter kits for card makers.  One makes a gorgeous collection of cards for just about every need a card giver may have and one features a technique that is very on trend in the paper crafting world.

What makes these kits so great?  Well, they arrive in a cute giftable box (meaning it can be used once you have completed the kit to package a present in) and you receive almost everything you need inside that box, including an exclusive stamp set, ink, block, and pre-cut and scored paper pieces plus embellishments to complete 20 cards!  Refills for each kit are also available allowing you to get more bang for your buck!  The only items you would need to have on hand to complete the projects are adhesives and something to clean your stamps, The Simply Shammy is perfect for kits because it also fits in the box making kits very transportable and perfect for on-the-go stampers!  Watch and enjoy!

Are kits just for beginners?  Of course not!  Because they are so transportable, they are the perfect solution for those that wish to take a craft project on holidays with them or even to complete while sitting at the ballfields during your little one’s batting practice.  Because much of the prep work has been thought through and completed for you, it is so easy just to toss in your Simply Shammy and a few adhesives and go.  Plus, they are sharable!  Quality time made fun when you sit with a friend or loved one and complete these projects together!  Even the most experienced cardmakers can take the bits and pieces provided in these kits and pair them with supplies they already have to create their own works of art.  There are just no limits!

In addition to the kits you will find in the annual catalog (and don’t forget to check the seasonal catalogs as well, SU! includes seasonal kits in those publications), we also have Paper Pumpkin!

Paper Pumpkin is a monthly subscription kit that is delivered to your mailbox, fully equipped and ready for a crafting escape.  There is no commitment necessary with this subscription and you can choose to skip the month if you wish or even up your subscription to more than one kit if you have someone in mind you want to share it with (maybe your mother is coming to town, or a grandchild and you want to have something available for a rainy day activity).  The contents are always a surprise but the kits are always seasonally appropriate.  Pre-purchased gift subscriptions are also available.  You can read more about Paper Pumpkin and how to subscribe HERE.

Watch me unwrap and put together a project from one of my latest Paper Pumpkin kits.

While I think Kits are a great way to get your feet wet, supplement your hobby with fun new projects and ideas and/or provide a source for quick and easy crafting, who wants to stay in a bubble?  Let’s move on to the next lesson and learn how to draw from inspiration to create a card of our own.
